The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors decided to postpone its decision about becoming a "Second Amendment Sanctuary" county. 

Gun rights advocates in the county say the proclamation doesn’t do enough to combat red-flag laws, which would allow the state to confiscate weapons from certain people under certain circumstances. 

The proposed proclamation said: "The board affirms its commitment to support and defend the right of Yavapai County citizens to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment."

Members of the board will hold an executive session at their next meeting on Jan. 15, but a final decision on the proclamation might not come until February.
