The Show regularly checks in with the Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic to talk about the big issues facing the state and the region — featured in the newspaper’s Viewpoints section.

The Phoenix City Council has undergone significant changes in recent years, and that included the presence of longtime community activist Carlos Garcia, who was elected to the panel last May. Garcia has been outspoken about police brutality and wears T-shirts that include a specific, related message.

Garcia wrote a column that was printed in the Arizona Republic op-ed page over the weekend in response to a column by Phil Boas, the Republic's Editorial Page director.

The Show spoke with Boas about it and began with background on the T-shirts.
