The period leading up to Thanksgiving through New Year's tends to be a busy one for food banks, both in terms of donations coming in and the need for food.

Brian Simpson with the Association of Arizona Food Banks said the group’s member food banks have not really seen a slow down this year from the past few holiday seasons.
