There continues to be bipartisan efforts at criminal justice reform, but a number of places — including Arizona — have seen those attempts dashed or at least limited.
New York Times Magazine journalist Emily Bazelon has written about the challenges in her book, "Charged: The New Movement to Transform American Prosecution and End Mass Incarceration." She was in the Valley this week for Arizona State University's John P. Frank Memorial Lecture.
Bazelon joined The Show to talk about how the United States went from having an incarceration rate similar to Scandinavia’s to the highest around the globe.
