The Trump Administration had attempted to add a citizenship question to the census form but the Supreme Court stepped in to disallow it. The effort was seen as a way to make non-citizens and immigrants less comfortable and less likely to answer.

Now, Mother Jones magazine is reporting that a different attempt has been underway — one that would, essentially, only count eligible voters in the census. That would potentially have a huge impact on post-census redistricting and political power over the next decade.

Mother Jones reporter Ari Berman has written about that in a piece called Trump’s Stealth Plan to Preserve White Electoral Power, and he joined The Show to explain the plan.
