Tempe and Chandler voters who have not yet mailed in their ballots for city elections next week still have options. 

The elections for Tempe mayor and City Council and a proposed charter amendment for Chandler will be decided by a ballot-by-mail process but the recommended deadline to get those ballots in the mail has passed.

Maricopa County Elections Department spokesperson Megan Gilbertson says Tempe and Chandler voters can still drop off their ballots until 7pm on Election Day, which is Tuesday, March 10. 

“They can always visit the Chandler City Hall or the Pyle adult recreation center in Tempe to drop off their ballots," Gilbertson said. "The best place to go is to locations.maricopa.vote and you can find all of our open voting locations.”

Gilbertson said about a quarter of the 87,000 ballots mailed out in the Tempe election have been returned.

The county has processed a little more than a fifth of the more than 150,000 ballots mailed out in the Chandler election.
