State Bar wants to recoup cost of Thomas ethics investigation

April 30, 2012

The State Bar of Arizona will try to recover nearly $300,000 from former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas.

The bar outlined costs incurred during a lengthy ethics investigation, which ended when Thomas was disbarred last month. He was accused of several ethical lapses, including prosecuting public officials because of personal animosity.

The legal costs date back to April 2010, and mostly include lodging, meals, and transportation associated with the independent attorney from Colorado who argued the case against Thomas.
