Banner Health has banned most visitors at its locations just a day after implementing hospital restrictions aimed at preventing spread of the coronavirus.

Banner says visitors are no longer allowed inside any locations due concerns about protecting patients from COVID-19. But there are some exceptions to the new rule.

At Banner hospitals, children under 18 can have one adult visitor with them. Also, mothers in labor can have one support person there.

At other Banner locations like urgent care facilities and imaging centers, kids can have an adult visitor. So can disabled people and those with cognitive or physical limitations who need support.

Banner says all visitors are subject to screening to make sure they don’t have symptoms of respiratory illness.
