Ducey Issues Executive Order To Delay Evictions

Gov. Doug Ducey issued an executive order Tuesday that ensures Arizonans who fall behind on rent during the pandemic won’t be evicted.

Ducey’s latest action applies to renters who are forced to self-quarantine for a variety of reasons — if they’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, if they live with someone who’s tested positive, or if they’re in isolation because they’re at greater risk to the virus.

It also helps individuals who’ve suffered financial losses during the pandemic, whether they’ve lost a job or seen their hours cut back at work.

In those circumstances, the governor’s order delays eviction for the next 120 days.
