Extensive research is taking place all over the world in the effort to identify ways to combat the effects of Coronavirus, with some teams focusing on developing a vaccine—though that is possibly a year or more away from fruition.

One of the groups is based at ASU and is led by Brenda Hogue. She is a virologist who has done significant work in the past on Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome — SARS — and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome — better known as MERS.

The Show spoke with her recently to find out what she’s currently doing in the lab to learn more about the current Coronavirus.

She started by sharing about the work she’s doing and how it lines up with her previous experience.
