The Salt River Project’s election for half of its board is coming up next month. Friday afternoon, March 27, is the deadline to request an early ballot by mail.

SRP is a utility serving water and/or electricity to 2 million Valley residents. The company runs the election itself and it doesn’t coincide with state or local government races.

“There’s technically two different elections going on, one for the water side and one for the electric side,” said current board member Randy Miller. Miller is not up for re-election this year.

Not everyone in SRP’s service area can vote, however. You can check out your eligibility and request a ballot at SRP’s website. Mail-in ballots must be requested by 5 p.m. Friday.

In-person voting will be on April 7. The company said it is making accommodations for social distancing for those voters who show up in person.
