Arizonans whose social distancing regimens include regular driving are seeing some relief at the gas pumps.

According to AAA Arizona spokesman Aldo Vazquez, a gallon of gasoline has gone down $0.11 over the last week — and that trend will probably continue.

"Typically prices start to trend upward around this time of year, but that’s not the case this year," he said. "We’re seeing less traffic on the roadways, which will ultimately drive down demand, increase gasoline supply and push pump prices less expensive for the foreseeable future."

The average cost of gas nationwide is about $2.05 per gallon. In Arizona, the average cost is $2.51.
