If you’re stuck at home right now and running out of ways to occupy yourself — and Netflix is getting old — it might be time to find a creative outlet. Painting, crafting, dancing and even something as easy as coloring can actually have positive health benefits from giving your brain a little workout to easing anxiety.

In fact, studies have shown that making art can reduce your levels of cortisol, a hormone associated with stress.

The Show spoke to artist Kathy Cano-Murillo, aka the Crafty Chica, who in her words has been spreading the “gospel of glitter” for more than a decade.

In addition to being an artist, Cano-Murillo is also an author and the founder of the Crafty Chica retail brand here in Phoenix. In the age of COVID-19 and social distancing, Cano-Murillo has been using social media to help people get creative with her new online Corazon Craft Nights every Thursday.

The Show spoke to her about her "Gospel of Glitter" and how others can get started crafting.
