Arizona Democratic Party Moves To Mail-In Process For Delegate Selection

Last week, the Democratic Party announced it was moving its national convention from July to August due to the coronavirus.

And in Arizona, the delegate selection process is changing with the times as well.

Matt Grodsky, director of communications for the state party, said, “We’re aiming for that to be a mail-in delegate selection process. In years past, obviously these have been in-person gatherings. This year, it would’ve been in Phoenix and in Tucson, but given the situation we’re making it a virtual event.”

Grodsky also said the party is prepared to hold a virtual convention in August, but no decision has been made by Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez.
