The coronavirus pandemic has left people with a lot of questions and the University of Arizona may soon be able to provide some answers.

The school is rolling out a texting system where people who want information about COVID-19 can send their questions and UA officials will answer.

Kacey Ernst is an infectious disease expert with the university. She said that will range from the current guidance on wearing masks to helping people find necessary resources.

“This is a really challenging time for everybody," Ernst said. "Even if you and your family members aren’t sick, your life has changed in some way ... [They could be] having challenges accessing food or sanitary supplies or social support.”

Ernst said she hopes the texting service will also help them collect data on the health of Arizona households.
