The Tohono O’odham Nation has filed a lawsuit in federal court seeking an order to stop the state from blocking the opening of the tribe’s casino near Glendale.

The lawsuit comes after Arizona Department of Gaming Director Dan Bergin announced in April that he would not approve gaming activity at the facility at 95th and Northern avenues.

Bergin is listed as a defendant on the lawsuit along with Attorney General Mark Brnovich and Gov. Doug Ducey.

According to court documents, officials with the Department of Gaming plan to notify prospective employees that they may not work for an unauthorized gaming facility.

The $200 million resort is the subject of a legal conflict that has lasted six years.
