Arizona Gov. Ducey’s COVID-19 executive order was officially lifted on May 15, which means employees in the Phoenix area can begin returning to the workplace.

Most facilities will have strict safety guidelines and workers with underlying health issues are encouraged to evaluate their options before heading back.

Julie Pace, an Arizona employment attorney, says certain workplace amenities may be off limits for the time being.

“The break rooms and lunchrooms at companies, some are just going to close them for now and ask people to bring their own lunches, not to use the common water tap or the common refrigerator. Or, they’re putting in gloves," Pace said.

Pace says employees who are unable to return to work may have other options like taking time off, going on discretionary unpaid leave or continuing to work remotely.
