Nearly 1,000 Mexico Nationals Dead From COVID-19 In The U.S.

MEXICO CITY — The COVID-19 virus attacks regardless of any nationality. And the Mexican government is reporting hundreds of its nationals sick in the U.S. and nearly 1,000 dead.  

On Monday, Mexico’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marcelo Ebrard released the latest numbers from its 50 consulates in the United States.

So far, 959 Mexicans have perished in the U.S. due to the pandemic. More than two-thirds of them died in New York. 

The consulates also reported a total of 356 cases of Mexicans with the coronavirus in the U.S. 

Twenty-six American states are reported to have Mexicans sick of COVID-19. New York has the most cases, 101, followed by Texas and California.

The Mexican Consulate in Arizona reported 17 cases of Mexicans carrying the virus, and one dead.
