Phoenix will award millions more in grants for small businesses in the city impacted by COVID-19. The City Council approved up to $12 million for three grant programs. 

Grants up to $10,000 will be awarded to businesses with fewer than 25 employees that operate in lower-income areas and generated less than $3 million in annual sales. The Small Business Relief Grant program initially launched in April with $2 million. Demand was high and the funds ran out within a few days so the council approved another $5 million.

The Phoenix Microbusiness Resiliency Grant program will award up to $5,000 to solo practitioners and microbusinesses — those are businesses with fewer than 5 employees. The city expects to help more than 1,100 people businesses through microbusiness grants.

Nearly 100 restaurants and food trucks could receive help through the city’s $1 million  Restaurant Restart Program. Grants up to $10,000 per business will be awarded  to help restart businesses, including buying food, rehiring staff, resetting floor plans and implementing safety protocols.
