Phoenix Area Could Hit 110 Degrees This Week
An excessive heat warning has been issued for Wednesday through Saturday for Phoenix and western and southern Arizona.
Meteorologist Jaret Rogers, with the National Weather Service in Phoenix, says temperatures are expected in the triple digits —108 on Wednesday and around 110 or 111 on Friday and Saturday. He says these numbers are nearly record-breaking for May.
“The number one thing would be to just avoid the sun, being outside as much as possible. But if you can’t do that, take frequent breaks, make sure you seek shade when possible, try to limit your exposure to the sun,” said Rogers.
Rogers says this heat wave is not typical for May.
The advisory also includes much of the western part of the state and from Wickenburg to Nogales.
