2020 Arizona High School Graduates Share Their Thoughts

As the school year wraps up, it is high school graduation season. But, instead of taking place in theaters or stadiums, most ceremonies are being held virtually, at least for now.

The Show gave a few graduating Arizona seniors an opportunity to share their observations.

Chandler High Graduate: 'I Will Not Allow This Quarantine To Define Who I Am'

Miranda Gonzalez is graduating Thursday from Chandler High School, which is holding a virtual ceremony. The Chandler Unified School District is planning on an in-person event late next month, if conditions allow.

Downtown Chandler’s Historic Square will also be lit up in blue and white on Thursday in honor of the school’s graduates.

Cactus High Graduate: 'We Are Witnessing History On A Personal Level'

Hannah Manzanares graduated from Cactus High School during a drive-by ceremony Friday. The Peoria Unified School District has plans for an in-person event at State Farm Stadium in Glendale in late June, if conditions allow.

The 18-year old was active in student council and music, and was president of the National Honor Society.

Queen Creek High School Graduates Look Back, Forward

Camille Hartman is the 2020 Valedictorian at Queen Creek High School. The Queen Creek Unified School District held its graduation ceremony online on May 22, although the district is hoping for an in-person event in late June, if conditions allow.

The Show spoke with Hartman and her friend Emma Gadsby about their graduation experiences.
