As States Reopen, CDC Report Shows Widespread Support For Social Distancing

Arizona's average weekly rate of new coronavirus cases has more than tripled since the lockdown was lifted, placing the state on the national radar as a COVID-19 hotspot.
A new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report looks at public attitudes toward stay-at-home orders.
The more than 4,000 adults surveyed in New York City, Los Angeles and the U.S. at large showed strong and widespread support for COVID-19 public health strategies, with 80% or more agreeing with stay-at-home orders, nonessential business closures and social distancing guidelines.
More than 74% of Americans, and nearly 90% of New Yorkers and Angelinos, said they wore face coverings in public.
Most said they would feel unsafe if restrictions were lifted.
The data are from May 5-12, the week before Gov. Doug Ducey's stay-at-home order expired.
