Pima County Health Director Calls Coronavirus Situation A 'Stable Crisis'

The state Department of Health Services reported another 3,563 new cases of COVID-19 July 7, bringing the number of cases here to more than 105,000.
To date, more than 1,900 Arizonans have died of COVID-related illness. And, while people 44 and younger account for more than half the overall cases, about 70% of deaths have been among people 65 and older.
During all this, the demand for ICU beds and hospital space continues to rise.
In Pima County, the Arizona Daily Star reported that patients with COVID-19 are being sent to Phoenix, San Diego or Albuquerque for care.
Dr. Theresa Cullen is the Pima County health director, and she calls the situation a "stable crisis."
The Show spoke with her earlier this morning about the increasing demand for hospital beds and how Pima County is coping with the continued spike in cases.
