Another week of record-breaking heat continues in Arizona — but some parts of the state might see some storms.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Sean Benedict says extreme heat advisories will be in effect for most of the week, but some moisture rolling in near the end could help.

"We’re still in excessive heat warning through Wednesday, and there’s even a chance that it could persist into Thursday," Benedict said. "But it is looking like the end of next week, we could be looking at slightly better moisture and that could help temper our temperatures a little bit."

Benedict says conditions are favorable for storms in other parts of the state, but it's too soon to tell for the Valley.

"The next few days, the chances (for storms) will continue," he said. "We don't really break out of the set up we're currently in — we've got high pressure sitting off to the north, which is typically a more favorable position for storms to come off the mountains towards Phoenix."

It’ll be hot in the high country, too — Flagstaff will see temperatures around 90 degrees for much of the week.
