Firefighters are busy working several wildfires in the eastern part of the state, including the Griffin Fire, which has burned nearly 62,000 acres and is about 45% contained.

Fire spokesperson Debbie Maneely says resources are spread thin across the state, and the dry weather isn’t helping.

“Resources in Arizona are very limited right now, there are a lot of fires obviously in the Tonto," Maneely said. "It is a fight for resources, but we’re holding good and hopefully get some rain chance to start damping some of these fires, and a little less lightning would be nice.”

Currently, only one fire is threatening structures: the Rock House Fire near San Carlos Lake, which has burned close to 12,000 acres.
