Early Ballots Go Out, Early Voting Begins In Maricopa County

Early voting begins Wednesday in Maricopa County, with several polling places open throughout the Phoenix metro area.
The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office is getting ready to send out 2 million ballots.
The county has added 250,000 voters since January 2020, and on Monday, the county registered 42,000 new voters to break a single-day record.
Erika Flores, deputy director of communications at the Maricopa County Elections Department, says there are currently seven vote center locations open for in-person voting. (Voting centers open as of Oct. 7 are marked in green on the map below.)

“Those locations are all large enough to practice physical distancing," she said. "Poll workers are wearing masks, face shields, gloves. And then there are gloves and masks available for voters.
Flores said they will be adding more in-person locations later in the month and by election day on Nov. 3 there will be 175 available.
Most of the county’s voters, 2 million out of 2.5 million, have signed up for early voting, which they can do through mail, drop boxes or in-person polling.
"Our team is prepared, you know, to process those and handle those and be ready for the election," said Diana Solorio, a spokeswoman with the County Recorder’s Office. "So, I think voters are informed and they are ready to exercise their right to vote for the November general election."
New voters have until Oct. 23 to register for the November election. Residents with an Arizona driver's license or a state ID card issued by the Motor Vehicle Division can register online at ServiceArizona.com.
Maricopa County residents can check their voter status online at BeBallotReady.vote.
