Airbnb says it has made progress with efforts to curb house parties in Arizona.

In a statement the company said it was taking steps to reduce large gatherings in response to concerns about a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Airbnb said it has expanded the manual review process to prevent parties from happening before they start.

This increase in the review of so-called high-risk reservations led to nearly 170 cancellations in Arizona according to the company.

Airbnb said after it placed greater restrictions on last-minute bookings and people younger than 25 reserving entire-home listings locally, more than 14,000 users in Arizona were redirected to private rooms or hotels.
