In-person early voting officially ends Friday at 5 p.m.

Vote centers will still be open over the weekend for voters who have an emergency that they feel prevents them from voting in-person on Election Day, says Maricopa County Elections spokesperson Megan Gilbertson.

"Voters who have an issue that would prevent them from voting in person on election day can visit any of our vote centers beginning at 5 p.m. Friday all the way through Monday at 5 p.m.," Gilbertson said. "It’s up to the voter to decide what qualifies as an emergency, and voters do not need to have an emergency to drop off their early ballot in a signed and sealed affidavit envelope over the weekend."

Around 100 locations will be open for emergency voting on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, there will be 20 locations, and on Monday, there will be about 150 emergency vote centers.

All voters have to do is sign an affidavit stating they have a valid reason they can’t vote on Tuesday.

“Poll workers will not ask voters what their emergency is, but (voters) do sign a statement that attests that," Gilbertson said. "And that statement is right there on the affidavit envelope that they sign right there at the voting location.”

Emergency votes are counted alongside early ballots and are released with those totals on election night. Ballot drop boxes will remain open until 7 p.m. on Election Day.
