After a few weeks of unseasonably warm weather, meteorologists predict it will get much cooler — and possibly even wet in some parts of the state on Saturday.

National Weather Service meteorologist Nathan Lynum says the system moving through the state will bring cool temperatures to the Valley and snow at some higher elevations.

“This will be a much more wet system as it travels across the region," he said. "We’ll be looking at snow levels down to about 4,500 to 5,000 feet. We are going to be looking at some areas along the Mogollon Rim really reaching anywhere from about 5 to 12 inches of snowfall, in some of the upper bounds of the Mogollon Rim region."

High temperatures will be in the sixties for much of the week in Phoenix, and lows will drop down into mid-40s.
