AAA predicts at most 50 million people traveling for Thanksgiving this year.

Due to COVID-19, this is a 10% decrease from last year’s numbers and the largest one-year decrease on record since the Great Recession.

AAA spokesperson Aldo Vazquez says travelers should take precautions.

“Right now the recommendation from AAA  is to refrain from traveling at this time. But we understand that travel is a personal choice, so if you are going to be heading out, we recommend to make sure that you follow the guidance of public health and government officials about staying safe during the pandemic," Vazquez said.

Vazquez also says air travel will be down 48%; bus, trains and cruise ships down 76%; And overall travel in Arizona is down 8%.
