As the cooler weather arrives, Grand Canyon National Park will transition to winter operations.

The biggest changes take place on the North Rim, beginning Tuesday, when State Route 67 closes. The road is expected to reopen May 15, weather permitting.

On the South Rim, the Hermit Road shuttle closes and the road opens to private vehicles.

Mather Campground will shut down its reservation system and switch to a first-come, first-served basis.

The campground shower and laundry services will also close.
