Arizona has seen over 325,000 COVID-19 cases as well as over 6,600 deaths since the pandemic began. This includes the over 3,200 new cases reported Sunday, by the Arizona Department of Health Services.

More information about vaccine development and distribution is expected in the next three weeks.

Will Humble, former Department of Health Services director, says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices will meet Tuesday to discuss population prioritizations, including who gets the vaccine first.

"The recommendations that they come up with on Tuesday, will probably be the recommendations that all the state health departments and county health departments follow," Humble said.

Humble also said the Food and Drug Administration Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee will be evaluating Pfizer and then Moderna vaccines for approval by mid-December.
