An Arizona man has made his initial court appearance in Phoenix for his role in last week’s Capitol protests. 

Jacob Anthony Chansley, also known as Jake Angeli, will be tried in Washington, D.C., for his role in the disturbance.

Angeli is also known as "Q Shaman," or "Q Anon Shaman." 

The image of him inside the U.S. Capitol, shirtless, wearing a fur hat with horns and face paint was one of the more memorable images of the protest.

He has been charged with entering a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. 

Angeli attended the trial telephonically and pleaded innocent, though he can change his plea later.
