It’s nothing new to say that we regularly see clashes over religion and science and statements about whether the two can coexist. But that wasn’t always the way.

There were indeed disagreements, but the starkness of those disagreements wasn’t divisive in quite the same way they are now — on a regular basis.

That’s the larger theme at the center of Arizona State University's Conference on Religion, Ethics and Science that began Feb. 11 and continues Friday. 

The Show spoke with three of the participants — Barry Ritchie, ASU physics professor; Paul Davies, director of ASU’s Beyond Center for Fundamental Concepts in Science; and Hava Tirosh-Samuelson, director of Jewish Studies at ASU.

The conversation started by asking Ritchie to explain the goals of a conference that includes one panel named "What Does God Actually Do?"
