Arizona is near the bottom when it comes to unemployment payments, with a maximum of $240 per week. But what complicates the situation even further is something called "income disregard."

That can end up taking unemployment pay away from someone with a part-time job earning more than $30 a week.

The pandemic’s impact has made Arizona’s payout seem even more pathetic.

State Rep. David Cook of Globe is a conservative Republican, but he is leading the legislative charge during this session to increase weekly benefits and reduce the negative effect of the "income disregard." The Show spoke with Cook about the push.
