The latest state-run COVID-19 vaccination site is coming to Northern Arizona University on April 19.

Vaccines will be administered indoors from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at NAU’s University Union Fieldhouse.

Arizona health department director Dr. Cara Christ says already existing vaccination efforts at NAU won’t be replaced but instead supported.

“This is similar to what we did in Tucson and Pima. Both of those had existing vaccination sites. What we do is that we work with them to expand those efforts. We’ll work to get them additional vaccines so that they can provide expanded hours or more doses per hour,” said Christ.

The site plans to offer 1,000 appointments per day to start, and expand to 4,000 appointments per day.

NAU joins UA and ASU with vaccination sites on campus, in conjunction with the state health department.
