As the weather warms in the Southwest, the Bureau of Reclamation is predicting low water levels on reservoirs, which could have impacts on boaters.
Lake Mead National Recreation Area recently issued a warning: As the bureau’s drought forecasts play out, access points and boat launch areas on Lake Mead may change.
Although the lake plans to temporarily extend ramps, boaters should check the status of their destination before heading to the lake.
The drought has forced the National Park Service to make changes and spend tens of millions of dollars on ramps, parking, docks and other facilities over the last two decades.
