Glendale Public Libraries To Fully Reopen Monday
Public libraries in Glendale fully reopen on Monday after months of limited capacity and modified service.
For months, public libraries in Glendale were only offering curbside pickup, or only checking out popular books. Now, library staff and volunteers are ready to welcome patrons back.
Chief librarian Michael Beck says he’s ready to help his community by providing all of the library’s pre-pandemic services.
“I think one thing that the pandemic has highlighted is still the fact that libraries are needed, whether it’s computer access, materials, or just watching movies with the family when they can’t necessarily go to the movie theater,” said Beck.
Beck says one aspect of modified service the libraries plan to keep is virtual programming. Glendale libraries partnered with authors from all around the world to read famous literature over Zoom throughout the pandemic.
