Four people suspected of human smuggling are in custody after raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Border Patrol on Thursday morning at two locations south of downtown Phoenix.

During the raids, agents found two semi-automatic assault rifles with high-capacity magazines.

About 30 migrants were found by Homeland Security Investigations and Border Patrol agents from the Tucson area, when they simultaneously served search warrants at two places near Central Avenue and Broadway Road.

ICE in Phoenix said the migrants are all adults. It did not release genders or nationalities as interviews with them continue.

The same goes for the four suspects, who were armed with two long-guns and a pistol. ICE only identified them as noncitizens.

The quartet could be accused of crimes in addition to human smuggling as the investigation is ongoing.
