Arizona GOP Leaders Continue Work On Attracting Support For New State Budget

Arizona GOP legislative leaders introduced a $12.8 billion spending plan for the upcoming fiscal year May 24. They’re holding the first budget hearings today and hope to pass the budget this week.

But Julia Shumway writes that finding enough votes to pass the proposal won’t be easy.

Shumway covers the state Senate for the Arizona Capitol Times, and The Show spoke with her to learn about the political dynamics of passing a budget.
