'It's Not Like I'm Not Trying To Get There' — GOP Senator On Why He Can't Yet Support Budget Proposal

State lawmakers are set to continue work on the new state budget.
On May 25, the package of bills cleared the appropriations committees in the House and Senate, largely along party lines, with Republicans in favor and Democrats opposed.
The $12.8 billion package is set for floor debate May 26, and Republican leaders have said they’d like to try to wrap up work on the spending plan by the end of the week.
But they have work to do to get all Republicans on board, as the Republican party only holds a one seat advantage in both chambers, and can’t afford to lose any members. And some like Sen. Paul Boyer are not ready to support the plan.
Sen. Boyer, a Glendale Republican, has expressed concern with the proposal for a 2.5% flat income tax, saying it will cause cities and towns to end up losing money.
The Show spoke with him and asked if anything’s changed on that front.
