After defeating the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers in Round 1 of the playoffs, the Phoenix Suns will begin Round 2 against the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.

The Suns, led by Devin Booker’s 47 points, finished off the Lakers on Thursday.

They now look ahead to the Nuggets, led by MVP candidate Nikola Jokic, with the winner headed to the Western Conference Finals.

Suns coach Monty Williams says the preparation has gone well.

“Everybody’s focused on the task at hand, we know we’re facing a tough team, deep team. The last few days for us has been about staying sharp while getting rest,” said Williams.

Williams says star point guard Chris Paul, who played through an injury against the Lakers, has been practicing while receiving treatment.

The Suns will host the first two games of the series, with Game 2 on Wednesday, before heading to Denver.
