National Democratic Redistricting Committee
Eric Holder is a currently chair of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee.

Arizona Attorney General and U.S. Senate candidate Mark Brnovich is warning the Justice Department to keep out of the ongoing audit of Maricopa County ballots and election equipment.

In a letter sent to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, Brnovich accused his federal counterpart of showing “an alarming disdain for state sovereignty,” and that his office will not tolerate “any effort to undermine or interfere with” the audit.

Garland has said that audits like the one being done here are based on disinformation and that his agency will “do everything in its power to prevent election fraud and to vigorously prosecute it.”

This comes as debate continues in D.C. over the proposed For the People Act, which has cleared the House but faces long odds in the Senate. The measure deals with issues like voter access, election security and redistricting, among many others.

Among its supporters is former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who served in the Obama administration; he’s currently chair of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee.

The Show spoke with Holder and started the conversation by asking what, to him, are the key selling points of the federal bill.
