Survey: Many Unvaccinated Adults Worried About Missing Work Due To Vaccine Side Effects

Arizona health officials are trying to get as many residents vaccinated against COVID-19 as possible. And there are a number of reasons why people haven't gotten the shot yet.
A new survey from the Kaiser Family Foundation lists one reason that Swapna Reddy says many officials probably haven’t thought about: concern about missing work because of the potential side effects of the vaccine.
That concern ranked third in this survey, at 48%, behind only concerns about the side effects themselves and the vaccines’ safety. It was more of a concern than things like the potential cost, taking time off work to get the vaccine and getting to a place to get the shot.
Reddy, a clinical associate professor in the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University, calls the result “incredibly surprising.”
The Show spoke with her to learn what she makes of the survey's results.
