Arizona and the rest of the U.S. continue to deal with the effects of COVID-19 as concerns grow about the power of the delta variant.

The availability and effectiveness of vaccines make our current circumstances dramatically different from 16 months ago, though, which Andy Slavitt makes abundantly clear in his new book "Preventable: The Inside Story of How Leadership Failures, Politics, and Selfishness Doomed the U.S. Coronavirus Response."

Until recently, Slavitt worked with the Biden administration as a senior advisor for COVID-19 response.

The Show spoke with him to learn what problems occurred with the U.S.'s response to the virus.
