Closures of Interstate 10 in connection with a major project between Chandler and Phoenix have started.

Transportation officials plan to hold a public meeting this week so people can learn more about the construction work.

ADOT predicts it will take three years to finish construction on the heavily traveled 11-mile stretch of I-10.

To explain what people can expect between the Loop 202 Santan Freeway and Interstate 17 near Sky Harbor airport, state officials will host a virtual public meeting at 5:30 p.m, on Wednesday Aug. 4.

The project team will take questions on construction to widen I-10, replace bridges and rebuild an interchange.

Crews also plan to add frontage roads on the Broadway Curve, pedestrian bridges and more lanes to a pair of other freeways near where they connect to I-10.
