Which Jobs In Construction Trades Pay The Most?
Elevator installers have the top median wages among construction trades, according to an analysis by the National Association of Home Builders.
The association reviewed 2020 Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics Survey data and found the median wage for elevator and escalator installers is almost $88,000, with the top 25% making at least $20,000 more.
First-line supervisors' median wages are more than $67,000 with boilermakers close behind. Median wages for plumbers and electricians in construction are more than $55,000. Carpenters, which are the most common construction trade jobs and require less formal education, have median wages of nearly $50,000, with the top 25% making at least $65,000.
The Occupational Employment Statistics publishes data for 388 construction occupations, including 56 construction trades. The other workers fall under finance, sales, administration and other off-site jobs.
Chief executive officers are the highest paid occupation with half making more than $176,000 followed by lawyers working in construction with median wages of $146,000.
