Concerns over the COVID-19 delta variant surge have driven some schools to defy the Arizona governor and require masks indoors.

But according to polls and research by the Kaiser Family Foundation, it has yet to budge the needle for many unvaccinated Americans.

The COVID-19 Vaccine Monitor finds the portion of adults who have either gotten vaccinated or plan to has barely changed since June, and the 14% who outright refuse the vaccine has held steady since December.

Three in 10 adults remain unvaccinated, including one in 10 who want to "wait and see," and 3% who will get the shots "only if required." That number dropped from 6% in June.

Unvaccinated adults, especially the "definitely nots," expressed less worry about the virus and less confidence in vaccine safety and effectiveness.

Recent news has increased mask-wearing, mainly among vaccinated adults.
