Probe Investigates Whether Phoenix Police Violated Civil Rights Of Homeless People
Earlier this week, The Show heard how the Phoenix police are under investigation for multiple offenses. One of those is investigating whether or not the civil rights of homeless individuals have been violated.
Phoenix police and sanitary workers regularly clean up homeless encampments. They say it's to protect the health and safety of those living in and near the camps. However, critics say that these cleans ups amount to seizing and disposing of property without justification.
To learn about the situation, The Show spoke with Jessica Boehm, who is covering homelessness at the Arizona Republic.
