State Senate President Karen Fann (R-Prescott) says now that the results from the so-called audit in Maricopa County are in, some lawmakers are busy working on bills to change election law.

Friday’s presentations from Cyber Ninjas and their subcontractors included suggested changes — including the creation of an election audit department, regulating the kind of paper ballots can be printed on and changes to how the state’s voter rolls are managed.

Any proposals likely will not be considered until the legislature next meets in January; Gov. Doug Ducey has said he does not plan to call a special session for them.

To learn what bills might be coming, The Show spoke with Elizabeth Howard, senior counsel in the Democracy Program at the Brennan Center for Justice; she also served as an audit observer at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum on behalf of the Secretary of State’s office.
